Well i really enjoyed my first time at Painting in the Park at Stanley Park Blackpool.

I’ve never tried a painting competition before so wasn’t sure what to expect.

My first painting was of the long unused bowling green.

I have wanted to do this for a while as it’s part of Stanley Park people don’t really use any more.

I had sorta finished this, and was convinced that it was later in the day than it was. I went back to the visitors centre and realised it was only 12 o clock!

So having 4 hours left and a spare canvas, now the pressure of the competition is over I’m just going to have fun and paint.

I popped down to the lake and had a more relaxed painting session. Met and chatted with some really nice people, and decided this one was the better of the two!

So I entered this one and was pleased to have been shortlisted for the final 5 paintings.

Ok I didn’t win overall but I think getting shortlisted on my first attempt is a win for me.
